Summary

The POLYFLOW computer system for plastics processing modeling has been presented. The system is a generally oriented software package of MES programs (MES — finite elements method) to simulate processes in which viscous and viscoelastic flows play adominant role. The flows can be two- or three-dimensional, steady or unsteady, isothermal or non-isothermal. Analysis of variance (linear problem, nonlinear problem) was carried out for convergent flows of a non-Newtonian Bird—Carreauliquid in a circular channel and, among other things, the stream lines and the velocity and pressure distributions in this channel were determined.
