DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1996.307

Summary

Geomembrane applications have been reviewed with particular reference to ones used as insulating materials for protecting underground and surface waters and soil from contamination by refuse and waste disposal site leachates. The relevant requirements to be met by such geomembranes have been summarized. The essential technical specification and chemical resistance of the geomembranes made of low density polyethylene (PE-LD) at the Refinery Industry R&D Center, Płock, were presented. Advantages and draw backs to the geomembranes made of PE-LD and РЕ-HD were compared.
