2-Amine-4-tert-butylphenol as a model catalyst for reactions

of synthesis of polyurethanes catalyzed by dibenzyltin dichloride

A co-catalytic effect of 2-amine-4-tert-butylphenol (ATBF) as a model catalyst containing tert-butyl, hydroxyl and amino groups has been investigated. It has been found that ATBF acts as a co-catalyst in reactions of polyester-and polyetherdiols with toluene and hexamethylene diisocyanates. The highest co-catalytic effect is observed in reactions catalyzed by dibenzyltin dichloride and dibenzyltin dilaurate. ATBF decreases the activity of catalyst inreactions catalyzed by lead 2-ethylcapronate and isooctyltin dimaleate, but in reactions catalyzed by stannous 2-ethyl-capronate the activity of catalyst is unchanged.
