Epoxy – isocyanate paints

Polimery 1993, No 4-5, 215

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1993.215

Summary

Properties of the epoxy resin–isocyanate system used as a binder base for paints were discussed. Paints containing the above mentioned binder base were elaborated at the Institute of Plastics and Paints Industry. One paint is intended for the painting of holds and the other for the anticorrosive priming. The useful properties of these paints were characterized with particular attention paid to the possibility of applying and hardening coats at temperatures both below and above 0°C. The performance tests on paint coats for holds revealed their high resistance to the action of mechanical forces, atmospheric agents and sea water. Priming paint coats have excellent anticorrosive properties. This paint can be used for priming steel surface in winter conditions, what is a big advantage of the paint.
