A mathematical model of the single-screw extrusion process. Part I. General assumption of the model
The hitherto published mathematical models of the single-screw extrusion process of plastics have been reviewed and evaluated. A concept of a complex model has been presented, which included the die head, too. It has been found that a model of this kind should allow the prediction of the mass intensity of material flow, energy consumption and evaluation of the process quality, which are main criteria of optimation of the extrusion process.
