DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1992.226

Summary

The process of emulsion polymerization as method for manufacturing polymer dispersions used in dispersion varnishes and lacquers was described. The main features of aqueous polymer dispersions were presented and their main types used in the manufacture of various lacquers and paints (styrene-butadiene, poly(vinyl acetate), acrylate and poly(vinyl chloride) types) characterized. The specifity of commercial-scale manufacturing of polymer dispersions was discussed.
