of film coating from water dispersion of a polymer or copolymer

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1992.271

Summary

On the basis of literature data the mechanism of the coalescence process, i.e. the process of formation of film coating from an aqueous dispersion of polymer or from a pigmented dispersive material was presented. Various factors affecting the course of this process were discussed, such as external interactions, composition and size of polymer or copolymer particles, composition of aqueous phase, presence of small amount of solvent. The process of drying of the pigmented dispersive materials in the function of the pigmentation degree was presented.
