Summary

A mathematical model in the form of an exponential function with a iree term has been proposed for the description of the solid-phase poly condensation process of PET. It has been proved that such a model is justified theoretically it is consistent with the course of increase of limiting viscosity number of PET during polycondensation. A procedure for the determination of the values of coefficients used in this model, in dependence on temperature, pressure and initial value of limiting viscosity number of PET, has been outlined. This makes it possible to derive an empirical equation concerning the defined conditions of a PET polycondensation proces.
