Antistatic epoxy paints

Polimery 1993, No 4-5, 210

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1993.210

Summary

The phenomenon of electrostaticity and hazards due to it were discussed. One of the methods of eliminating electrostatic charges is the application of antistatic paint coats. At the Institute of the Plastics and Paints Industry there were elaborated two types of antistatic epoxy paints, namely a graphite–containing epoxy topcoat paint (for exterior coats) and an aluminium–containing topcoat epoxy paint (for interior coats). Coatings of these paints are mainly designated for the shipbuilding industry and exhibit high adhesion to glass reinforced polyester laminates, good mechanical properties and high resistance to the action of sea water.
