Apparatus for the measurement of gas permeability through polymer membranes under pressure

The construction of measuring apparatus and the procedure of determination of permeability of pure gases or their mixtures through polymer membranes in the range of pressures of 0 — 2 MPa (0 — 20 atm.) have been described. The suitability of this apparatus has been confirmed by the results of measurements of permeability coefficients of carbon dioxide, hydrogen, nitrogen, and their mixtures through a Tomofan film (regenerated cellulose film). A good repeatability of results has been found — the relative mean-square error of an individual measurement was below 3%, and relative mean-squarae deviation of arithmetic mean 1.2%.
