Summary

On the example of Polish-made polyamide-6 (Tarnamid T-27), the transitions taking place in it during heating were considered. Melting enthalpy, as determined by the DTA- and DSC-mcthod, was applied to the characterization of the effect of heating temperature (in the range of 180—250°C) of PA-6 on its crystallinity degree. It was found that the DTA- and DSC-method can not be used to the determination of the crystallinity degree of PA-6 because of a polymorphic transition occurring during heating. This fact causes a considerable lowering of the values of the crystallinity degree in comparison with the values from X-ray method.
