Applications of near-IR spectroscopy in the investigations of reactions of epoxy compounds with amines.
Part III. Studies on the rate of curing the commercial epoxide resins with aromatic diamines
The procedure of investigating the reactions of epoxide compounds with amines, as described in the previous papers, has been used to the study of the rate of curing of commercial epoxide resins from diglycidyl ethers of bisphenol A, 2,2'-dihydroxynaphthol and epoxidized phenolic novolac with 4,4'-diaminediphenylsulphone and 4,4'-diaminediphenylmethane. The results of this study make it possible to establish the optimum temperature of this process as well as the optimum composition of the resin-curing agent blends.
