DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1983.229

The failed of success results of investigations on the utilization of the instability of azosulfide group in the synthesis of poly(phenylene sulfide) has been presented. To this aim, the products of reaction of sodium sulfide or thiophenolate with two types of diazonlum salts, containing —N = N—S— groupings In the chains, have been heated at a temperature of 200°C to eliminate nitrogen. The elementary composition and IR spectra of the thus-prepared polymers have been given.
