The development of the manufacturing process of electrically conductive vulcanized rubber with properties similar to those of vulcanized silicone rubber has been attempted. Thanks to an appropriate selection of the rubber mixture components, vulcanized chloroprene rubber with resistivity of about 20 ohm X cm has been prepared. In comparison with the silicone rubber, this new chloroprene rubber shows the following advantages: lower cost of the rubber mixture, easier processing and possibility of elimination of peroxides. The exploitation tests carried out with two types of products made of the conductive chloroprene rubber have given positive result.
