Conference on chemical security culture in a public space

ICHP - Bezpieczeństwo chemiczne Konferencja

Scientific conference on "Chemical security culture in a public space”, summarizing the Project HOME/3820/2012 – "Towards the chemical security culture” was held at Industrial Chemistry Research Institute on 30th of June, 2015.

Managing Director of Industrial Chemistry Research Institute Dr. Regina Jeziórska, D. Sc., prof. ICRI has sincerely welcomed the participants. The Conference was chaired by Lesław Górniak, M. Sc., Chem. Eng, Project Co-ordinator.

The Conference gathered representatives of law enforcement institutions, Government, agencies involved in public security, public administrations, and academia. The representatives of chemical enterprises: "Grupa Azoty” Nitrogen Works Kędzierzyn, INCO Group, HSH CHemie, Petrochemical Blachownia and Trzuskawica who participated in the project as trainees of a pilot course for trainers of chemical security were invited as special guests and awarded the trainer's degree.

During the conference the issues of chemical security in a public space, modern principles of chemical security and its significant roles of prevention misuses of chemicals were discussed.

The deliverable products of the project such as: "Chemical security manual for Trainers”, the web portal for professionals and the other one popularizing chemical security culture, database of chemicals potentially posing threat to public security were presented during the Conference.
