Part I. Copolymerization of styrene and strontium acrylate
Emulsion copolymerization of styrene and strontium acrylate has been carried out. The influence of emulsifier concentration and composition of the reaction mixure on the yield, molecular weight and content of strontium in copolymers has been studied. The dependence of copolymer composition on the temperature and initiator concentration supports the validity of the assumed mechanism of the copolymerization reaction. A derease of the copolymer yield with the increase in strontium acrylate concentration in the initial reaction mixture has been observed.
