On the basis of literature data and own observations it has been assumed the discontinuity in the changes of macroscopic properties of segmented elastomers as a function of the content of rigid mers. The correctness of this hypothesis has been proved experimentally on the example of 4 series of segmented polyurethane and polyurethane-urea elastomers by investigating their dynamic hydroabrasive wear with the application of a specially elaborated procedure allowing for modelling the exploitation conditions of such elastomers. In these studies the existence of threshold values of the soft mer/rigid mer ratio has been observed; these values correspond with the abrupt changes in the dynamic hydroabrasive wear.
