Cyclization parameter in kineticmodel of the nonlinear step polymerization

In relation to the kinetic model of step homopolymerization of atrifunctional monomer proceeding with substitution effect, the averaged parameters λ1, λ2 and λ3, determining the relativerates of intramolecular cyclizations (λ1 refers to the reaction between mers with the degree of substitution 1, λ2 — to the reaction between a mer with the degree of substitution 1 and a mer with the degree of substitution 2, and λ3 — to the reaction between mers of the degree of substitution 2) were calculated. In the calculations, two algorithms known from the theory of graphs were used. It was found that as the reaction proceeds, the ratios of λ21 and λ31 after an initial rapid increase reach constant values when the degree of polymerization of macromolecules is about 8 (cf. Table 2).
