Summary

The Elpet type PET of Polish production has been subjected to three successive heating cycles in a DSC microcalorimeter simulating stages of processing and of waste utilization. The resulting thermograms were used to evaluate the thermodynamic parameters of the transition. Under the experimental conditions two maxima were recorded assigned to the thermal effects due to cold crystallization. Quality changes were found to occur in the cold crystallization range after successive heating cycles. The DSC method proved to be useful for comparing thermodynamic changes in PET.
