Dibenzyltin compounds as catalysts in the synthesis of polyurethanes

Polimery 1981, No 6, 205

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1981.205

It has been found that dibenzyltin compounds used as thermal stabilizers of polyvinyl chloride may also be used as catalysts in the synthesis of polyurethanes in concentrations as low as 0.05 weight % in respect to polydiol component, their activity being not lower than that of other commonly used catalysts of polyurethane synthesis. The activity of dibenzyltin compounds is different in reactions with polyesterdiols and polyetherdiols and depends on the acid rest in the dibenzyltin compound.
