Dimensional stability, physical, mechanical and thermal properties of high density
polyethylene with peanut hulls composites
Polimery 2013, No 6, 461
Three composites with different filler content (6, 17 or 32 wt. %) were prepared from waste PE-HD polyethylene film and finely-ground peanut hulls. The processing was carried out without the use of additives, using equipment commonly used in polymer processing. The obtained materials are characterized by a low density, acceptably low moisture absorption capacity and good mechanical properties; also, after the life time, they can serve as a valuable fuel.
