Dyeing of polyamide-6 fibres modified by grafting with various amounts of poly(acrylic acid) (PKA), poIy(itaconic acid) (PKI) and poly(2-vinylpyridine) (PWP) was investigated. An improvement of the dyeability of fibr es grafted with PKA in the case of basic dyes and of fibres grafted with PKI in the case of basic and dispersed dyes was observed. A considerable improvement of the dyebility with direct and acid dyes, and a slight improvement of the dyeability with dispersed dyes was obtained for fibres grafted with PWP after their quatemization with 3-bromopropionic acid.
