characterizing the extrusion process
On the example of Politen II 003/SO-00 low density polyethylene the effect of some design parameters of the screw, namely heating time tn, unit power Nj, and mass per unit of heating power GN, on the technological and exploitation indices: yield of extrusion W, unit consumption of energy Ej, and axial force in the screw P has been determined. Besides, the distribution of the highest measured temperature tmax, of the highest measured pressure pmax in the material as well as amplitudes of the pulsation Dр of the pressure in the material have been determined. A synthetic evaluation of the three possible designs of the screw, taking into account the characteristic quantities W, Ej, Ps, tmax, Pmax and Dр has been presented.
