Empirical verification of the mathematical model of filling of injection-mould cavities
The results of empirical verification of mathematical model elaborated by the Authors for the description of the Injection-mould filling process for the cases of moulds in the shape of plate with varying width and constant height with either single pinpoint gate or with edge gate have been presented. The object of verification were pressure losses measured in the mould cavity during the phase of its filling. The usefulness of the proposed model in the analysis of the filling of mould cavities of the „disc" and „rectangular plate" types for the injection moulding of polystyrene and polyethylene has been proved.
