Part I. A method for quantitative evaluation of the angle of texture inclination
The system of orientation of the crystalline aggregates in drawn PET-fibres has the character of an axial inclined texture. An attempt has been made to derive a relation permitting the determination of the angle of inclination of this texture. This derivation has been based on an analysis of the position of the contour and equatorial lines on a rectangular fibre diagram. The thus-obtained relationships are particularly suitable for a routine evaluation of the texture of PET-fibres of higher drawing ratios. Due to their universal validity for the cases of an axial inclined texture of polymers crystallizing in triclinic system, these relationships may also be used for fibres prepared from homologues of PET.
