Formation and characterization of surface compounds in tetrabenzyltitanium/γ-alumina systems (in English)

In continuation of the previous investigations concerning the preparation of a supported catalyst of the type (C6H5CH2)4M/γ -Al2O3 (M = Ti, Zr, Hf), the conditions of deposition of tetrabenzyltitanium on alumina have been studied in detail. It has been found that benzyl titanium compounds are fixed on the support surface by means of one, two or three bridging О-atoms. Even under mild re action conditions takes place in such case a partial reduction of titanium. The presence of a series of surface compounds, as described in the text in figure 3, has been proved. The content of benzyl groups and O-bridgings in these compounds as well as the content of titanium on various level of reduction have been determined
