Frequency dependent conduction in poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) films

The AC conductivity a(ω) of 225 m thick poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) films was measured in the frequency range of 100 Hz-5 MHz and in the temperature range of 300-460 K. In the high frequency range the AC conductivity can be described by a general formula a(ω) ~ ωs(T) with the exponent s decreasing with temperature. The results obtained have been interpreted in relation to Pike's theory regarding charge carrier hopping between the localised states.
