Summary

Heat exchange has been described between the film sleeve and the cooling medium in the two-layer film blowing process. Model equations are presented to describe the relationship between temperature changes in each layer and the thermal energy transferred by conduction, convection and radiation, including the heat generated by viscous dissipation and crystallization.
