Summary

On the basis of recent literature data and results of own investigation, various aspects of the synthesis and doping of conductive polymers have been discussed. These polymers contain simple and bridged polyenic systems, aromatic and mixed systems as well as systems with heteroatoms in the polymer backbone. The methods used in the characterization of doped polymers, in particulary the EPR-method and Mossbauer spectroscopy, have been presented. The perspectives of the application of such polymers, e.g. in galvanic cells, have been outlined.
