Hydrophilization of epoxide resins for water-thinnable paints
A literature review has been presented concerning the methods used in hydrophilization of epoxide resins employed in water-thinnable paints. A detailed description of the methods of hydrophilization of the industrial bisphenol-A-based epoxide resins both by chemical modification (preparation of epoxyesters, epoxyethers and epoxide resins containing amino, ammonium or sulphonium groups) and by physico-chemical modifietion with the use of surface active compounds. The curing agents, fillers and auxiliary agents used in paints of this type have been charactirized.
