Summary


It has been shown that the system of TiCl4-(C2H5)2AlCl-(C6H5)2Mg is a super-active catalyst of ethylene polymeri­zation with a polymer yield of 20—35 t PE per 1 g of Ti. The effect of temperature and of the concentration of chain-transfer agent (hydrogen) on the yield and molecular weight of polyethylene has been investigated. It has been found that it is possible to control the molecular weight of polymer in a wide range by changing the polymerization conditions. The activity of hydrogen as a molecular-weight regulator is particularly high at higher temperatures of polymerization (90—130°C).
