Influence of reactants on the catalytic reaction of preparation of polyurethanes

Polyurethanes (PU) from industrially applied diisocyanates (TDI, HMDI and IFDI) and polyester- and polyetherdiols have been synthesised in laboratory test conditions in the presence of selected catalysts (Sn and Pb compounds and amines). It has been found that the activity of catalysts depends on the type of reactants both polydiols and diisocyanates. There are selective catalysts for the PU synthesis from polyesterdiol (amines) or from polyeteherdiol (Sn and Pb compounds)..
