Interactions between proteins and synthetic polymers

Polimery 1990, No 9, 267

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1990.267

Typical features characterizing interactions between proteins and solid synthetic polymers are discussed. Synthetic procedures used for covalent binding of proteins to the surface of synthetic polymers are given. The experimental methods used in studies of these interactions are discussed. Some results concerning the selective adsorption of proteins and their conformational changes due to adsorption processes are analyzed. Several examples of practical applications of interactions between proteins and surface of synthetic polymers are presented.
