Investigation of processing properties of poliester moulding compounds
Polimery 1990, No 5, 167
The plastographic method and the transfer mould with orifice metod have been applied for investigations of processing properties of Estrodur type home-made polyester moulding compounds (standard and low shrinkage grades). It has been found by the plastographic method that the curing process can be described with reasonable approximation by the Arrhenius equation. Activation energies of curing reactions have been compared for moulding compounds of different contents and lengths of glass fibers (20 and 25 wt.%, and 6 and 12 mm, respectively). It has been found that the curing reaction rate parameters are correlated for both methods, while the correlation of fluidity parameters is worse.
