Summary

The antielectrostatic properties of chlorides of 1-alkoxymethyl-3,4-dimethylpyridinium. 1-alkoxymethyl-3-ethylpyridinium, 1-alkylthiomethyl-3-ethylpyridinium. 1-benzyloxymethyl-3, 4-dimethylpyridinium. 1-benzyloxymethyl-3-ethylpyridinium, 1-benzyloxymethylpyridinium, 1-benzyloxymethyl-4-ethylpyridinium and 1-benzyloxymethyl-3, 5-dimethylpyridinium in respect to PE films have been compared on the basis of determinations of surface resistivity, maximum values of induced voltage and half-times of voltage decay. These antielectrostatic properties depend on the length of alkoxymethyl or alkylthiomethyl substituent of nitrogen. An excellent antielectrostatic effect has been revealed by the following chlorides: 1-octyloxymethyl-3, 4-dimethylpyridinium, 1-decyloxymethyl-3, 4-dimethylpyridinium, 1-dodecyloxy methyl-3,4-dimethylpyridinium, 1-hexylthiomethyl-3-ethylpyridinium and 1-octylthiomethyl-3-ethylpyridinium.
