Goal and description of the project


The main scientific subject of this project is development of basis technology production of UV-curable binder and coatings compositions with reduced or bereaving volatile organic compounds. This binder will be useful for coatings for different kind of surfaces. Two class of coatings composition will be developed: (1) water-thinnable polyester resin with reduced or bereaving volatile organic compounds and (2) powder compositions. In case of water-thinnable polyester resin, ways of effective incorporation of a monomer with pendant, highly hydrophilic sulfonate groups (-SO3Na) into the polyester chains, will be developed. These solutions will be possible to implementation in industrial practice. Sulfonate monomers will receive and modify specially to release this goal. The main part of this work will concern optimization of synthesis of water-thinnable polyester resin and polyester powder compositions in view of their application on different type of surfaces. Developing solutions will be original in comparison with currently knowledge and didn`t use in industrial practice.
