Long-term peel strength of metal-laminate adhesive joints

Summary

The effect of the clamping pressure of elements during formation of the adhesive joint between a metal (steel, aluminium) und glass-reinforced epoxide-resin laminate on the long-term peel strength, Rn, of the joints has been investigated. The effect of the BW-41 adhesive substrate on Rn-value has also been determined. This substrate increases the Rn-value by about 20%. A mechanism of the failure of metal-laminate adhesive joints Has been suggested.
