Summary

The effect of rolling on the mechanical properties of thermoplastics (cable-sheathing polyethylene, Tarnamid T30 polyamide and PVC) has been presented. With the squeeze augmentation, the increasse in tensile strength and Young modulus as well as the decrease of Poisson ratio in the direction of rolling have been found. Some improvement of the mechanical properties of materials aged thermally after rolling has also been observed.
