Summary

The applications of the high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HP GPC) in the studies on polymer preparation and their molecular characterization (determination of average molecular weights, Mn, Mw, and Mz and of molecular weight distribution) were discussed. On the examples of some selected polymers and oligomers (silicone, alkyd and novolak bisphenol-A/formaldehyde resins, esters of fatty acids and diglycerol) the research and measurement potential of the Department of Plastics Analysis and Characterization at the Industrial Chemistry Research Institute were discussed and the procedur es of HP GPC measurements presented.
