Observations of spherulitic structure of etched monolit hic polypropylene samples by means
of a scanning electron microscope
The TEMSCANIEM 100C apparatus has been applied in the observation of spherulitic structure of bulk polypropylene samples (PD 161 grade of Hercules) etched with chromic mixture. A combination of the Kato and Williams-Hudson methods has been used. The optimum composition of the etching solutions has been established and a high quality of patterns has been stated in recompense for the long duration of the process.
