Physical properties of electron irradiated hybrid epoxy composites (in English)

Summary

The results of investigations on radiation effects in five epoxy composites reinforced with glass, carbon and aramide fibre are presented. The physkal properties of these sampies irradiated with electron beam of 1-MeV or 13-MeV at the doses of l and 3 MGy were examined at room temperature. A smali improvement in mechanical strength and a significant increase in microhardness as well as in glass transition temperature Tg was found, whereas only negligible changes in microstructure and in electric resistivity were observed.
