Polyester resins for special applications obtained by the polyaddition method developer in the VEB Chemische Werke Buna
Polimery 1990, No 5, 160
Possibilities of preparation of various types of unsaturated polyester resins by the polyaddition of acid anhydrides (maleic, phthalic) with epoxy compounds (ethylene oxide, propylene oxide) have been discussed. An appropriate adjustment of ratio of main reagents and the introduction of additional components (adipic acid, mono- and di-functional alcohols) enables the preparation of resins of increased impact strength and reactivity, as well as soft resins as plastifiers for brittle resins and resins for prepregs.
