Ponar-Żywiec manufactured injection-moulding screws
The geometry and material used in the construction of 14 injection-moulding screws manufactured by Ponar-Żywiec has been discussed and compared with the: designs described in the current literature of the topic. It has been shown that the length of the Polish-made screws as well as their compression ratio do not assure an optimum homogenization of the material being injection moulded. Material used in the construction of these screws is also inferior from the point of its durability to the recent solutions. The design and material modifications aimed at an improvement of the quality of the Polish-made injection-moulding screws have been indicated.
