Porous polymers as chromatographic packings
Original and reported syntheses of polymeric packings for chromatography have been described, including details of preparation of porous polymers for GC and various approaches to the synthesis of polymeric packings for HPLC. The adverse effect is emphasized of micropores formed in the internal structure of a polymeric packing in addition to meso- and macropores, on packing's chromatographic properties. The principles of retention mechanisms on porous polymers are presented.
