Precipitation fractionation in the investigation of block copolymer of polyacrylonitrile and poly(ethylene oxide)

Summary

The results of studies on the precipitation fractionation of a block copolymer of polyacrylonitrile and poly(ethylene oxide) by the method of separation between two liquid phases in a solvent — non-solvent: DMF — turpentine system at temperature below 30°C have been discussed. Fractions have been characterized by the determination of their Intrinsic viscosities [h] and nitrogen content. The differential distribution of [h] was bimodal. It has been shown that the copolymer under study contained mainly two types of macromolecules: dlblock ones (PEO-PAN) and triblock ones (PEO-PAN-PEO).
