Preliminary experiments on the mo dification of footwear-grade PVC with rubber powder
With the aid of the method of statistical planning of experiments the effect of the kontent of waste-gradesilica (up to 10% by weight) and rubber powder (up to 20% by weight) as well as the degree of fineness of the powder on the coefficient of friction of footwear-composition on the basis of PVC of Polwiplast SBD grade. Coefficient of friction Has been measured in the temperature range of 273—323К (0—50°C) and for loads in the range of 11300—55000 Pa. It has been found that an addition of 5% silica (grain diameter of 0.2mm) and 10% rubber powder (grain diameter 0.2 or 0.5 mm)has an advantageous effect on the frictional properties of the composition.
