Preparation and some properties of Zn (II), Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) acrylates

The methodes of preparing acrylates of Zn(ll), Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(ll) in methanol and hydrocarbon suspen­sions have been investigated. The superiority of the me­thod in hydrocarbon suspension has been proved and the optimum conditions of reaction established. The thus-prepa­red acrylates of Zn(II) and Cu(II) were anhydrous salts, whereas the acrylates of Co(II) and Ni(II) contained con­stitutive water. Some properties of these salts have been determined. It has been found that the Zn(II) acrylate is more reactive In the thermal and radical polymerizations than the remaining monomers.
