Preparation of polyhydroxytelechelic poly(aliphatic ester)s by ring-opening polymerization
The latest methods of the controlled synthesis of hydroxytelechelic poly(aliphaticester)s have been reviewed on the example of the polymerization ofe-caprolactone, lactides, and neopentylene carbonate. In the first section, the applications and the conditions of the synthesis of linear poly(aliphaticester)s with controlled molecular weights, narrow molecular weight distribution and desired end-groups have been described. In the next section, review of the preparation of the telechelic polymers was divided according to the following synthetic methods: anionic and pseudoanionic polymerization initiated by the difunctional alcoholates; anionic and pseudoanionic polymerization initiated by the monofunctional derivatives and carried out in the presence of polyols as the chain-transfer agents as well as cationic polymerization according to the activated monomer mechanism.
