Summary

The properties of triblock methane elastoplastics based on poly (ethylene adipate), diphenylmethane 4,4-diisocyanate and di(2-hydroxyethyl) terephathalate, substituted partially by oligourethanediols of molecular mass near to 2000 from hexamethylene 1,6-diisocyanate and aliphatic glycols, have been investigated. The effect of the chemical structure of oligourethanediols and of their content in the overall mass of the copolymer on some selected properties of elastomers and highly elastic fibres formed from them has been deter­mined. It has been found that copolymers with an optimum set of properties are prepared by incorporation of oligomers based on diols with an even number of carbon atoms in the chain, i.e. 1,4-butanediol and 1,6-hexanediol.
