Properties of carbonate fillers for plastics

Polimery 1995, No 5, 289

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1995.289

Summary

Carbonate fillers available in Poland, viz., various types of ground chalk, precipitated chalk and dolomites used as fillers in plastics, were characterized by the methods of x-ray diffraction, differential Canning calorimetry (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and spektrometry of whiteness. Prolongation of the useful life of filled polymer compositions by their heat and light stabilization and modification of fillers to impart hydrophobicity and to improve their interactions with vinyl polymers have been discussed.
